"The hotel location is perfect. Right next to a metro station and within walking distance of the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Muslim Quarter and City Wall. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative point I have for this hotel would be if you are a light sleeper you may want to request a room away from the main road at the front of the hotel, as the windows are not particularly sound proof and there is a busy road with associated noise if you are facing it. The staff were very friendly and helpful."

"We had a wonderful time at the Old Locust Homestay. You can tell the owner really cares about his guests. During our stay there was some work being done in the road out front and the owner made sure to help us with our bags coming in and when we left and also offered a complementary room upgrade along with complementary imported coffee and gave us some local treats as a condolence for the issue. He always went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The hotel is newly renovated, very stylist and has great views from the third and fourth floors. We would definitely come back if we are ever in Xi’an again."

"Absolutely amazing experience staying at Novotel Xian hotel! From arriving at the hotel we were met at the entrance and our bags were taken to the reception. The women working behind reception were very welcoming, friendly and spoke great English. The hotel smelled very fresh, the room was very large, clean, modern and had lots of amenities. This hotel is excellent even to western standards, and I would expect to pay around £300 a night for this room back in London but here in Xian it was really cheap! Location is also excellent, few minutes walk from the main centre. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough!"

"I am so mixed about this hotel. The Central hotel at the bell tower. Location - awesome. Quick metro ride from the train station. Hotel door is literally 5 feet from subway exit. Hotel is directly across from the bell tower. Staff - amazing. They will literally bend over backwards to accommodate you. They arranged the shuttle to the terracota warriors and back from the huaqing palace where the show was. In constant contact via we chat. Pretty impressive for $12 cad dollars return. Breakfast - this is the first hotel we paid for breakfast with becuase it was affordable. Finding a western style Breakfast in china seems to be challenging. The Breakfast is basic but you can get coffee, some fruit, toast, fried or hard boiled eggs and lots of chinese options, rice, noodles, sea food, black rice congi. Rooms - nice, a bit small, super clean and renovated but in a more classic stlye. The negative is the first room we had, either had mold or something but it made my wife and i very ill. They were very accommodating and moved us, the second room the ac wasnt working and room got up to 28c , the third room, third night is awesome. The first two rooms were in the south end of the hotel and both had a smell, maybe an older section. The third room is in the north end and has no smell and although it looks identical, feels much better. Price - we are paying about $55/cad a night with breakfast included. If i were to book here again, i would request the north end of hotel and if i noticed any sort of smell, i would immediately ask for a different room. The primary reason to book again would be #1 the staff and #2 the location."

"What a wonderful, hospitable owner. The owner was extremely thoughtful and took really good care of all his guests. He took extra effort to prepare an early breakfast for a European family who wanted to leave early for the terracotta museum and helped them rebook the taxi when he observed that the allocated vehicle was too small for the family of 4. I enjoyed having conversations with the owner, covering anything under the sun helping to break the monotony of solo travel. The place is located in a quieter area, but surrounded by the traditional Chinese food stalls, local market, chic restaurants and bars and trendy cafes and bakeries. Clean and tidy, the big living room on the ground floor to relax or for some, a spot to some work."

"It was a very reasonably priced hotel! Just note that there are a few set of ramps where you need to slide your luggage upon entering the building but they also have someone who can assist you when you ring the bell at the entrance. The room was very comfortable and they also have sets of washer and dryer. We just took didi to go around, it was close to the main tourist attractions."

It is warm and comfortable. The room is very spacious and quiet. The environment is also very clean. It is especially clean. Going out and recognizing the bed and bathroom, but here. Sleeping in the bathroom is particularly practical and comfortable, the bathroom with dry and wet separation is also very comfortable, especially the front desk lady is very warm and also presented us double breakfast breakfast is also delicious. "Not sure how they got the trip partner award but I have strong doubts - I paid more to stay at this hotel over many others on the same street and was sorely disappointed. Firstly, hotel is on 2 levels of a bigger building. The entrance looked extremely dodgy, especially when there’s no building light in the late night. The lift also takes forever to come. My biggest pain had to be the extremely thin walls!!! I could hear the family in the next room all night as well as the cleaner lady clearing her throat excessively in the early morning. I’m a light sleeper so I basically had an awful time for several nights. Charging port was not working well (i could not insert my adaptor and had to use the bathroom port). There was also no type c port which was terribly inconvenient since the main plug was already not working. Marketed that they have a minibar (one would assume a small fridge) but there wasn’t any - I couldn’t keep any of my food deliveries. There were daily cleaning services but air was dusty and you can probably see it. The only pro is the location which was close to the metro and attraction sites. Room was spacious with a smart toilet as well. You can deliver your courier packages to the reception but for food delivery it’s restricted to the first floor ******* lockers."
